SUMMARY

Gladys is a lecturer in the Department on Applied Community Development Studies at the Faculty of Education and Community Studies, Egerton University, Kenya. She is a PhD student pursuing PhD in Textile, Fashion & Design at Maseno University. She holds a Master of Science, Apparel, Fashion and Design (Msc.AFD) from the University of Eldoret and a Bachelor of Science Clothing, Textile and Interior Design (Bsc.CTID), from Egerton university. As a fashion designer and lecturer, she is responsible for developing, reviewing and implementing fashion curricula and lectures that address current industry trends and techniques. she evaluates students' performance through assessments and providing constructive feedback to support students academic growth and career readiness. As a fashion design lecturer and an enterepreneur, she is responsible for the coordination of Knitting and Tailoring Unit (KTU), an income generating unit in Egerton University. This unit has enabled her to facilitate collaborations that provide students with real-world experience and enhance the clothing, textile and interior design (CTID) program credibility. In her career journey, she served as a chairperson in the disciplinary commitee in Matili technical training institutes, a position that strengthened her ability to work with others to promote national cohension and core values. she also has the ability to work with other proffessionals such as textile manufacturers, interior designers and creators to build required interior spaces. She has hands-on experience. A talented, industrious and creative individual, with extensive experience in developing pattern designs for different product lines related to fashion. Adept at drawing, sketching and planning designs for fashion apparel, accessories and interiors. Her career objective is to be an expert in design interventions, teaching and research in line with the vision, mission and goals of Egerton University. Her aim is to pursue scholarly excellence and participate in academic conferences/seminars to present research findings and stay updated on emerging trends and issues in fashion design education and industry.
